Travel Documents
The Consulate General of Lebanon in Los Angeles processes applications for new biometric passports, renewals, and Palestinian Travel Documents.
Appointment Required. All passport services require a scheduled appointment. Walk-ins are not accepted for biometric data capture.
Lebanese Passports
- Completed Passport Application Form
- Current Lebanese Passport (original and copy)
- Lebanese ID Card (Tazkarat Hawiya) or Recent Extract of Civil Status (Ikhraj Kaid - issued within last 3 months)
- Proof of legal residency in the US (Green Card, Visa, or US Passport)
- Two (2) recent passport-sized photographs (white background, 4.3 x 3.5 cm)
- Self-addressed stamped envelope (USPS Priority Mail with tracking recommended)
Palestinian Travel Document
For Palestinian refugees registered in Lebanon, the Consulate processes applications for Travel Documents. Please contact the Consulate for specific requirements and forms.

Visas to Lebanon
US citizens traveling to Lebanon for tourism can obtain a visa upon arrival at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport. For other nationalities or specific visa types (business, student, work), please review the requirements below.
General Requirements
- Completed Visa Application Form
- Original Passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay)
- One (1) recent passport-sized photograph
- Copy of US residency status (if applicable)
- Proof of accommodation in Lebanon (hotel reservation or invitation letter)
- Flight itinerary showing round-trip tickets
- Self-addressed stamped envelope for return of passport
Important Notice. Passports containing any Israeli visas or stamps will be denied entry into Lebanon, regardless of whether a Lebanese visa was issued.
Registration of Life Events
The Consulate registers vital events (births, marriages, divorces, and deaths) that occur within our jurisdiction for Lebanese citizens. These registrations are forwarded to the Directorate General of Civil Status in Lebanon.

New Extract of the Civil Register (Ikhraj Qayd)
Lebanese citizens can apply for a new Extract of Civil Register (Ikhraj Qayd) through the Consulate. This document is essential for various legal and administrative procedures in Lebanon and abroad.

- Copy of old Ikhraj Qayd or Lebanese ID (Tazkarat Hawiya)

Legalization & Notary
The Consulate provides legalization services for documents to be used in Lebanon, including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, powers of attorney, and educational degrees.
Power of Attorney (Wakala)
To execute a Power of Attorney, the principal must appear in person at the Consulate with a valid Lebanese ID or Passport, and the document must be drafted in Arabic.
Legalization of Signatures & Shipping Documents
Commercial documents must first be certified by the local Chamber of Commerce and the Secretary of State before they can be legalized by the Consulate.
