Mr. Charbel Nassar

Charbel Elie Nassar is a Lebanese diplomat and engineer currently serving as Consul General of Lebanon in Los Angeles.

He began his academic journey in electrical engineering, working for six years as a consultant engineer in the private sector. Driven by a growing interest in international relations, he pursued a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy before joining the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2015.

At the Ministry’s central administration, he worked for three years on political and diaspora-related issues. During this period, he traveled extensively to organize conferences under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in several international cities, including Los Angeles, strengthening ties between Lebanon and its global diaspora.

In 2019, he was appointed Consul at the Embassy of Lebanon in Berlin. Alongside his consular duties, he pursued a second Master’s degree in International Economics and Cultural Diplomacy. In Berlin, he managed a wide range of consular affairs and represented Lebanon in various official capacities. He also contributed to high-level discussions, including engagement related to the German Federal Foreign Office’s feminist foreign policy framework.

In 2023, he returned to the Ministry’s central administration, serving in the Political Affairs Department. He was responsible for bilateral relations between Lebanon and several European countries, including Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Spain. In this capacity, he participated in high-level meetings alongside the Minister of Foreign Affairs and contributed to advancing Lebanon’s diplomatic priorities.

In 2026, he was appointed Consul General of Lebanon in Los Angeles, where he begins his mission with a renewed commitment to strengthening Lebanon’s presence on the West Coast and fostering closer ties with the Lebanese-American community.

Beyond his diplomatic work, Charbel Nassar is passionate about travel, reading, and language learning. He speaks Arabic, French, and English fluently, with strong proficiency in Spanish, Romanian, German, and Hebrew, and continues to expand his linguistic repertoire with Russian.
