Registration of Divorce

Before starting any request, verify that your state of residence falls under this Consulate’s jurisdiction.

The completed divorce registration application form.
The final divorce act issued by the relevant American court (certified copy from the superior court), with its official translation to Arabic.
A recent Family Extract of Civil Status.
A recent birth certificate for each spouse showing that the marriage was registered in Lebanon.
A power of attorney granting a lawyer or representative in Lebanon the right to follow up on the finalization of the divorce in Lebanon.

Fees

$63 — money order payable to the Consulate General of Lebanon in Los Angeles
$60 — optional divorce affidavit, provided by the Consulate General upon request

Fill out the online form and send all listed documents to the Consulate’s mailing address.
