Prior to starting a new visa request, applicants are required to check the Jurisdiction guidelines to verify whether their state of residence falls under the Consulate General of Lebanon in Los Angeles.
US citizens with a US passport valid for more than six months do not need a Lebanese visa prior to traveling to Lebanon if the duration of their visit is less than one month. Those planning to stay more than one month are recommended to apply for and obtain a visa before traveling.
Visa requirements for US Citizens
- A completed visa application form.
- Original passport valid for more than 6 months (not a travel document).
- A copy of your passport (first page only).
- One passport-size photo that complies with standards.
- A money order / cashier check payable to the “Consulate General of Lebanon in Los Angeles” (see fees below).
- If applying by mail: one large empty, stamped, self-addressed envelope from USPS or FedEx. Keep your return tracking number — the Consulate is not responsible for lost return mail. In-person applicants are exempt.
- For minors: a notarized Parental Consent form signed by both parents, plus a copy of the child’s birth certificate and copies of both parents’ IDs (submitted with the application).
Visa fees (per person)
- $88 — single entry
- $125 — two entries
- $175 — multiple entries (up to 6 months)
US Diplomatic & Official visas
- A completed application form.
- Original passport valid for more than 6 months.
- Official letter explaining the nature of the mission / purpose of the visit (e.g. Dept. of State, Dept. of the Army, Dept. of the Navy).
- A copy of your passport (first page only).
- One passport-size photo that complies with standards.
- One large empty, stamped, self-addressed envelope from USPS or FedEx (in-person applicants exempt).
This is a courtesy visa.
Non-US Citizens & other nationalities
Provide a completed application form, an original passport valid for more than 6 months (not a travel document), and a copy of the passport’s first page, along with the following:
- One passport-size photo that complies with standards.
- A copy of the applicant’s permanent residency card or US visa.
- A hotel reservation, or a clear address of the place of residence and a telephone number.
- A bank statement covering the last six months.
- A letter of employment.
- An invitation sent by a citizen or resident, including the host’s name, contact and address, the purpose of the invitation, and a copy of the host’s Lebanese ID or residency permit valid for at least 3 months (front and back).
- A money order / cashier check payable to the “Consulate General of Lebanon” (same fees as above: $88 / $125 / $175).
- For applications by mail: one large empty, stamped, self-addressed envelope from USPS or FedEx (in-person applicants exempt).
- For minors: a notarized Parental Consent form signed by both parents, plus a copy of the child’s birth certificate and both parents’ IDs.
Applicants married to a Lebanese citizen are exempt from items 1–6 above, provided they submit a marriage certificate or Lebanese family civil registry (إخراج قيد عائلي) along with a copy of the spouse’s Lebanese ID or passport.
Domestic workers
- Valid passport of the housekeeper.
- Valid US visa.
- A letter from the employer (affidavit of support).
- Proof of health insurance coverage.
